Summary uses the FTP command "REST" to download part of a file. Very old versions of Windows Server don't support the "REST" command and can only download an entire file. I don't remember exactly when Microsoft added support for "REST", but it was many years ago (perhaps in XP). The error message you quote says the "RE*T" command was not recognized. I wonder about the '*'. It is remotely possible that some kind of communication error is corrupting the "REST" command, or perhaps they simply have a very old version of Windows with a strange error message. For example, 'One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish' can be deconstructed as a searing indictment of the narrow-minded binary counting system. -- Peter van der Linden, Expert C Programming, Deep C Secrets ------------- Go to <http://summary.net/list.html> to update subscription info.
