Re: [Summary-Talk] Data Interpretation and Question

Your traffic spike was probably mostly visits with only errors. An error
can count as a visit and won't count as a hit or a page view.

A good way to get an idea of what is going on is to look at the various
overviews. Several of them have graphs which should show the traffic
spike. If you place the mouse over the spike on the graph various bits
of information will be displayed in the text box below the graph. Once
of those will no doubt provide a useful bit of information.

The only way to get visits for a specific page on a specific day is to
set a date range for just that day, process the logs, and then look at
the visits column on the Content : Pages report. You can see hits for
the last 31 days for each page by putting the mouse over the mini-graph
in the Content : Pages : Over Time report and a little popup will appear
showing hits for the day the mouse is over.

Dr. Seuss books . . . can be read and enjoyed on several levels. For
example, 'One Fish Two Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish' can be deconstructed
as a searing indictment of the narrow-minded binary counting system.
