Agent - Name with drill down Avg. Steps - Average Steps per Visit - For requests, the average of the step number within the visit on which this item was requested. For everything else, the average number of steps taken in visits associated with this item. Low numbers are early in the visit and high numbers are later in the visit. For more information on average steps click here. Behavior - Behavior - List of dramatic rises, falls, and spikes in traffic in the last month. BPS - Bits per Second - This is a rate of data transfer. Dialup modems are capable of 33.6K or 56K BPS. A T1 line is 1.5 Meg BPS. Cable modems can be anywhere from 1 to 7 Meg BPS. Recent BPS - Recent Bits per Second - The average data transfer rate, in bits per second, attributable to the current item, observed over the most recent two to three weeks Browser - Name with drill down - The name of the browser used by a visitor to access your site. % of Bytes - Percent of Bytes - The percentage of bytes associated with the current item of the total of all items in the report. % of all Bytes - Percent of All Bytes - The percentage of bytes associated with the current item of the total for the entire sub-report. Bytes - Bytes Bar Chart - left to right bar chart of bytes. Bytes - Bytes Flipped Bar Chart - right to left bar chart ob bytes. Bytes /Day - Bytes per Day - The average number of bytes per day. Bytes /Hit - Bytes per Hit - The average number of bytes per hit. Bytes /Visit - Bytes per Hit - The average number of bytes per visit. Bytes KBytes MBytes GigaBytes TeraBytes PetaBytes - Bytes % of Recent Bytes - Percent of Recent Bytes - The percentage represented by the current item of the total of all items in the report. Bytes over the last fourteen months - The number of bytes transferred for each item for each of the last fourteen months. Bytes Read - Bytes Read - The number of bytes read from the log file. For compressed log files this field contains the number of bytes read after uncompressing the contents. City - Name with drill down - City. Code - Name - The HTTP results code returned by the server. ColorDepth - Name - The color depth of the visitor's computer. Cookie - Name - Enabled means that Cookies are enabled on the visitor's browser and Disabled means that they aren't. Cookie - Name - A cookie returned to the server by the visitor's browser. Count - Hits Bar Chart - left to right bar chart Country - Description with drill down - Country. Crawl Date - Hits - Crawl Date - Hits - The most recent date that the given robot crawled this item, or the number of hits recieved by this item. Date - Date - The time period in question. Day of the Week - Date - The day in question. Days - The number of days in the time period. Description - Description - Description of the meaning of the current item. Destination - Name - Directory - Name with drill down - The directory name. If you click on the directory name you will see the directory and all of it's subdirectories. If you click on the '*' you will see all of the files in that directory. Domain - Name with drill down - The domain name of visitors. Domain - Name - The name of the virtual domain. % of Downloads - Percent of Downloads - The percentage represented by the current item of the total of all items in the report. Duration HH:MM:SS - Duration - The length of the gap in service. % of Enters - Percent of Visit Enters - The percentage represented by the current item of the total of all items in the report. Entry Point - Source with drill down % of Errors - Percent of Errors - The percentage of errors represented by the current item of the total of all items in the report. Errors - Errors Bar Chart - left to right bar chart of errors. Errors - Errors Flipped Bar Chart - right to left bar chart of errors. Errors /Day - Errors per Day - The average number of errors per day. Errors - Errors - The number of errors associated with the current item. % of Recent Errors - Percent of Recent Errors - The percentage represented by the current item of the total of all items in the report. Error Growth - Error Growth - The increase, or decrease, in average hits in the recent period compared to the average hits over the entire time being reported on. If there are twice as many hits/day in the recent period as there are over all time that is a growth of 100%. If there are half as many hits/day in the recent period as there are over all time that is a growth of -50%. Summary needs at least four weeks of data to calculate growth. Error Growth - Error Growth Trend - A small icon indicating the general trend of increase/decrease in average hits during the recent period compared to over the entire period being reported on. Errors Over Time - Graph of Requests Over Time, Labeled Exists - File Exists - A small icon indicating if the log file was present in the Logs folder on the most recent processing run. Displays a dot if the given log file was present and a dash is it was not. When using incremental processing mode, Summary remembers results from log files which are no longer present. % of Exits - Percent of Visit Exits - The percentage represented by the current item of the total of all items in the report. Extension - Name with drill down - The file name extension. When you click on it you will get all the requests with that file name extension. Failing Referrer - Name with Link, blank if same Filtered - Filtered Entries - Number of log entries which were not included in the reports. This can happen either because they matched an entry on the Filtering configuration page or their date was outside the range specified on the Time Units configuration page. Hijacks % of Hits - Hijack Percentage of Visits - Cum. % of Hits - Cumulative Percent of Hits - The percent of the total hits associated with all the items in the report attributable to the sum of the current item and all of the items which have occurred before it in the report. Hits % of Parent - Hits Percent of Parent - What percentage of hits the current sub-item is of the parent item it is nested under. % of max Hits - Percent of Max Hits - The percentage of hits that the current item is of the largest item in the report. % of all Hits - Percent of All Hits - The percentage of hits associated with the current item of the total number of hits reported on in the entire sub-report. % of Hits - Percent of Hits - The percentage of hits associated with by the current item of the total of all items in the report. Hits - Hits - The number of requests during the given time period. Hits over the last eight days - The number of requests for each item for each of the last eight days. Hits over the last fourteen weeks - The number of requests for each item for each of the last fourteen weeks. Hits over the last fourteen months - The number of requests for each item for each of the last fourteen months. Host - Host Name - The host name of a visitor who visited your site. Host (from log) - Host Name as IP addr - The host name of a visitor who visited your site, displayed as it appears in the log files. Interest - Interest - How significant Summary deems recent patterns of activity. Java - Name - Enabled means that Java is enabled on the visitor's browser and Disabled means that it isn't. Language - Name - The language the visitors browser or operating system is configured to use. Latest Hit - Last Hit Date Latest Visit - Last Visit Date Leakage - Leakage Bar Chart - left to right bar chart Line - Line number - The line number in the log file of the line that can't be parsed. Lines - Lines - Number of lines in the log file. Log File Name - Log File Name - The name of the log file. Method - Name - The HTTP request method. Month of the Year - Date - The month in question. Not in any Report - Not in any Report - The number of log entries that were not included in any sub-report. 1 Page Visits % of Visits - One Page Visits % of Visits - The percentage of 1 page visits of the total number of visits in the recent period. % of 1 Page Visits - Percent of One Page Visits - The percentage represented by the current item of the total of all items in the report. % of Pages - Percent of Page Hits - The percentage represented by the current item of the total of all items in the report. Pages - Page Hits - The number of requests for pages associated with the current item. Which requests are considered to be pages is configurable. Cum. % of Pages - Cumulative Percent of Hits - The percent of the total of all the items in the report attributable to the current item and all of the items which have occurred before it in the report. % of Recent Pages - Percent of Recent Hits - The percentage represented by the current item of the total of all items in the report. Parse Errors - Parse Errors - The number of lines that Summary was not able to parse correctly. You can click on the number to get a display of some of the lines that Summary could not parse. This field can also display several special status messages. "ParseErr" - Summary couldn't understand anything from this file. "Empty" - this log file is empty. "InProcess" - Summary is currently processing logs and has not gotten around to reading this log file yet. "ReadErr" - Summary encountered an error when attempting to open the file. "2GigLimit" - Summary stopped reading this file after reading 2 Gig. "4GigLimit" - Summary stopped reading this file after reading 4 Gig. "Filtered" - All of the log entries in this log file were filtered out. "NotInAny" - None of the log entries in this log file were included in a sub-report. Path - Paths - A specific sequence of requests made during a visit. For more information on paths click here. Phrase - Name with drill down Phrase - Name - A search phrase used in a request to your internal search engine. Platform - Name with drill down - The computer platform the client's browser was running on when they accessed your site. When you click on it you will see all of the agent strings that correspond to the current platform. Plugin - Name - The name of a browser plugin installed in the visitor's browser. Protocol - Name - The protocol requested by the browser when making the request. Quarter Starting - Date - The first month of the 3 month period. Requests Over Time - Graph of Requests Over Time, Labeled Range - Time range for histogram Rank - Line number in report. Referrer - Name with drill down - When you click on the link you will see the most common query strings used with this referrer. Referrer - Name with local Link, blank if same Referring Domain - Name with drill down - When you click on this link it will show all of the referring pages that are in that domain. Referring Domain - Name - A domain name that referred one or more visitors to your site. Region - Description with drill down - Region of the world. Reloads % of Hits - Reloads Percent of Hits - The percentage of all requests that were reloads. Request - Name, length limited - Request - Source, blank if same % of Requests - Percent of Requests Requests - Valid Entries - The number of valid log entries that Summary was able to read from the log file. Robot - Name - The name of a robot crawling your site. Robot Visits % of Visits - Robot Visits % of Visits - The percentage of all visits that were by known or likely robots. Screen Size - Name - The display resolution of the visitor's computer. Search Engine - Name, blank if same - Search Indexer - Description, blank if same Search Phrase - Phrase, blank if same - Search Visits % of Visits - Search Visits % of Visits - The percentage of all visits that were referred by a search engine. Server - Name - Shows which physical server, normally refers to a specific machine in a cluster of servers. For more information click here. Size on Disk - Size on Disk - The size of the log file on disk. For compressed log files this can be significantly smaller than the number of bytes read from the file after decompression. Skipped - Skipped Lines - The number of lines which didn't contain log entries but were otherwise valid. For example: some servers include comments in the log files. Source - Source State/Province - Description with drill down - US State or Canadian Province. Sub-Report - Name with drill down Text on Line - Text of line with parse error. Time of Day - Date - The one hour period starting at the time listed. Tracked Visits % of Visits - Tracked Visits % of Visits - The percentage of all visits that had tracking tags in the recent period. Tracking Tags - Name - The string that appears in the log file associated with the tracking tag. Top Level Domains - Name with drill down Unique Hosts - Unique Hosts Bar Chart - left to right bar chart User - Name, blank if same % of Value - Percent of Value - The percentage represented by the current item of the total of all items in the report. Value - Value - The total value of all the visits associated with the current item. Values are calculated based on the settings on the Groups/Value configuration page. Value /Goal - Value per Goal - The average value per goal. Value /Goal Two - Value per Goal Two - The average value per goal two. Value /Visit - Value per Hit View Time - Average View Duration - The average view time per visit during the given period. Note: View time cannot be calculated when there is only one page, download, or other in the visit. That means that average view time will be diluted by 1 page visits. View Time - Average View Duration - The average of the time between a request for the current item and the next request for a non-graphic in the same visit. This number is in minutes and seconds. Note: View time cannot be calculated when there is no subsequent page, download, or other in the same visit. Total View Time - Total View Duration - The total view time for all visits for which view time can be calculated during the given period. Note: View time cannot be calculated when there is only one page, download, or other in the visit. Total View Time - Total View Duration - The total of the time between a request for the current item and the next request for a non-graphic in the same visit. Note: View time cannot be calculated when there is no subsequent page, download, or other in the same visit. Views - Views - The number of times the current object was requested, not counting reloads. % of Visits - Percent of Visits - The percentage of visits associated with the current item of the total number of visits associated with all of the items in the report. % of all Visits - Percent of All Visits - The percentage of visits associated with the current item of the total of all visits reported on in the sub-report. A visit is nominally a person or robot viewing content at your site and then leaving. Because of the way the web works, visit counts can never be calculated exactly. Summary can estimate visits in various ways. By default, a visit is a sequence of requests, all made from the same IP address, having the same agent string, and with no gap between requests of more than 30 minutes. Visits are tracked in the content reports in Summary Plus, SP Lite, and SP only. Visits appear in various other reports in all versions of Summary.
