From time to time Beta releases of our products may be available. These
releases are provided for testing and evaluation and have not received
the same thorough testing as regular releases. Please bear in mind that,
while every attempt has been made to provide properly working programs,
Beta releases should not be used in situations where high reliability is
important. They may crash, provide incorrect results, or in other ways
fail to operate to the same standards as release versions.
What’s new in version 3.0b5?
May 23, 2006
- This beta version will expire on June 27, 2006. You are welcome to try it out until then.
- This is a beta release of Summary 3.0, which will be a paid upgrade of Summary. People who purchase Summary on or after March 28th 2006 will receive a free upgrade to Summary 3.0 when it ships.
- The beta test registration code for Summary is SBA30-DUYYY-CUJ8U. The beta test registration code for Summary Plus is SPL30-5XYYY-WUSV2. The beta test registration code for Summary SP Lite is SSL30-R4YYY-JFRXN. The beta test registration code for Summary SP is SSP30-8XYYY-6DUV7. Previous Summary registration codes will not work.
- This is the first release of Summary 3.0 beta for Windows.
- The Windows version is now compatible 64 bit versions of Windows (in 32 bit mnode).
- The Windows version now uses a different installer.
- Mouse tracking over line and bar charts in the Overviews was not always working, fixed.

- This is the first release of Summary 3.0 beta for Linux.
- Links were appearing in where to look for more information popups even when the report was disabled, fixed.
- Some of the report links in the overviews were formatting incorrectly when writing static HTML, fixed.
- The explain problems report had links to non-URLs when it shouldn't have, fixed.
- Removed another kind of serial number from agent strings.

- Summary could crash when trying to display a report with a very long URL, fixed.
- The Other Details overview was displaying the Program Status overview at the bottom and the Program Status overview was failing completely, fixed.
- More aggressive removal of serial numbers/unique keys from agent strings, reduces memory usage slightly.
- Bar/line graphs were not working in static HTML, fixed.
- Links in the sub-headings of the main overview were not working in static HTML, fixed.
- The visits column was available as an optional column in the directory reports but Summary does not calculate visits by directory. The visits column no longer appears as an optional column in the directory reports.
What’s new in version 3.0b2?

- Completely redesigned overviews! The overviews are now task oriented and include pie charts and interactive bar charts and line graphs. The new overviews put all the information you might need for several common tasks all in one place.
- New appearance throughout. Now uses CSS and supports recent HTML standards.
- Added a new Javascript Enabled report, requires new Javascript code be installed at your site.
- Added Visitors : ISPs and Visitors : Robots : Agents report and renamed some others.
- Numerous small changes and extensions to the custom HTML support. Existing custom HTML headers and footers will need to be rewritten.
- Added several new rows to the Compare Time Periods report.
- Added support for a third high memory usage report.
- Added support for name/password authentication to the SMTP server when sending e-mails.
- Visits with tracking tags now count the tracking tag as their referrer.
- Moved the Language report to Visitors : Country.
- Added text size configuration setting.
- Three of the high memory reports now default to on in new configurations.
- Renamed "current" to "recent".
- Updated to PCRE 6.6.
